zapruder films is an indie canadian film studio comprised of ~7 guys that have been working together since 2006. im pretty sure the music budget has been higher than the production budget on every single one of their movies because the production process is filming a bunch of bullshit with no script aside from a vague story in mind and then editing for like a year. these movies are all so fire and they explore really unique filming tactics that can really only be achieved by indie creators (filming using real people, basically everyone on the team has creative input) as well as just telling really compelling stories. obv there are a ton of problems from everyone involved (put a bunch of white guys together its gonna go wrong at some point) but you cant deny those are some goooooood fuckin movies. if youve seen any of their stuff without having heard of them its probably the bald glenn howerton movie they made the bald glenn howerton movie.
this has been a nonstop obsession of mine since mid-2025 and while its calming down a little there are no signs of stopping. it started out with nirvanna the band the show (which is honestly surpirising bc i was a hugeeee iasip fan before this but i never actually watched blackberry)(also fun fact i have zero memory of how i learned ntbts existed)(i found mold in my room at around the same time i got into it?? i can only assume the two factors are correlated) and then it snowballed into catastrophe. ive seen a frankly absurd amount of canadian movies. many of which arent even related to any zapruder crew im just a fan of canadian cinema now thats how bad it got. overall getting into zapruder and watching like 3 billion interviews made film seem way more accessible to me. not even production (although i am planning to start a small series with some of my frends :3) but just like. watching movies in general. which sounds really stupid but i used to feel like i wasnt allowed to watch movies that were actually good or high quality because i wouldnt get it or not take it seriously enough. which is sometimes true but like thats okayyyy its a moveyyyyyy no ones gonna come kill me. ive been watching a lot more movies lately and while it hasnt translated to any real knowledge of film its been a really good time. also watching zapruder stuff kind of helped me to get closer with my best friend. like there were also alot of other factors but zapruder projects (esp ntbts and the dirties) were and are an undeniably large part of our friendship. so yah basically this fuckass film studio changed my whole life. also this isnt an accomplishment of zparuder but i should shoutout one of the greatest fansites out there because i think that site being as cool as it is is a big part of why i even watched all these movies in the first place
